Vikings Coaching Staff

Head Coach -- Anthony Puma

 

Coach Anthony Puma will lead the Vikings in their inaugural Varsity season. He has been part of the strong athletic program at North Meck High School since 2002. He coached the Men’s and Women’s Junior Varsity soccer team for 8 combined seasons.  Under Coach Puma’s direction six of the eight teams had undefeated seasons. As the assistant Varsity Soccer Coach, he helped lead the team to the State Finals and a National Ranking in 2005.   Coach Puma is a native of central New York, where he played lacrosse at Rome Free Academy.  He led RFA in scoring and received honors as a Section III All Star in 1994 as an attackman. He graduated from Clarkson University with a degree in Mathematics in 1998. During 1999-2001, he coached lacrosse at Mohawk Valley Community College a NJCAA school.  The team finished second both seasons in the Mountain Valley Conference.  He is also the current head coach for Top Tier Lacrosse U-16 team.

 

Assistant Coach - Joe Puma

 

 Coach Joe Puma is currently self-employed as a real estate and mortgage broker. He was an assistant coach at Lake Norman Club Lacrosse for two seasons. He was a 4 year starter at Alfred University, a NCAA Division III school from 1998-2001.  He led Alfred University as a face-off midfielder in groundballs each season. In High School at Rome Free Academy, He was named team MVP in 1996 and 1997. He was named two time second team Section III All Star as a midfielder and was part of the 1997 Section III Senior All Star-team.

Assistant Coach - Anthony LaMarca
 

 

 Coach Anthony LaMarca a highly talented defensive player has joined our coaching staff. He played at NCAA Division II, Pfeiffer University in 2008 and was named Second Team All Conference Defensemen. As a freshman, Anthony led the team in forced turnovers. Anthony grew up on Long Island and has been playing lacrosse for over ten years. He has assisted coaching in his hometown for the youth program. He has also assisted in running summer lacrosse camps on Long Island.
